Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the way to prepare your brand for the future of search engines. Think ChatGPT, Google SGE, and other AI-powered platforms that are increasingly providing the first answer to your potential customers. Want to be among them? Then we're happy to help you take the first steps.
At Social Brothers, we help you not only be found in search engines, but also become visible in AI-driven search results.
What exactly is GEO?
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the evolution of SEO. Traditional SEO focuses on Google's search results. But more and more people are using AI tools like ChatGPT or Google's new Search Generative Experience (SGE) to find answers to their questions. With GEO, we ensure that your content is picked up by these AIs and used in their answers.
It's not just about keywords, it's about relevance, reliability, structure and content that fits the new way of searching.

Frequently asked questions following our webinar
1. How quickly does AI pick up changes on your website?
This varies by AI model. Some models index updates within 24 to 72 hours, others take longer. The currentness of the information also depends on the license and model used. Keep in mind that new content today can already be used as input for the next AI model.
2. Why are competitors' actions sometimes linked to us in AI results?
Some LLMs (like ChatGPT) can mismatch content from different sources. This can make a competitor's action appear to originate from you. This is due to limited context or a model's inaccuracy. What can you do? – Ensure clear, unique, and up-to-date content on your own website and channels. – Publish regular updates to increase your authority. Expect LLMs to continue improving in this area as they mature.
3. Do videos work well on your website (e.g. in an FAQ format)?
Absolutely. Videos strengthen your authority and can also be included in AI answers. Important: add a short description (such as alt text) so AI models know what the video is about.
4. Do you have any text suggestions for below a video?
Make sure the accompanying text aligns with users' search queries (prompts). Keep it short, clear, and informative, just as you would with alt text for images.
5. Does writing GEO-specific texts help for better visibility?
Yes, that still works well at the moment, just like classic SEO with landing pages. However, LLMs will eventually see through this. So first, create a clear content strategy and write relevant pages based on that.
6. How do AI models handle FAQs they write themselves that you post on your website?
AI models often recognize when content has been generated. It's better to use real customer questions as a basis and write or edit the answers yourself. Draw inspiration from AI, but don't blindly copy.
7. Do you also need to submit new pages to Bing, in addition to Google?
Yes, absolutely. ChatGPT sources its information primarily from Bing, while Gemini (from Google) naturally works through Google. Visibility in both search engines strengthens your presence in various LLMs.
8. Which AI agent do you use yourself?
We use N8N to build AI automations, including some of the tools we showed during the webinar.
9. Are LLMs getting smarter, or are we seeing more fake news?
LLMs are certainly getting smarter, but they remain dependent on the content they receive as input. Incorrect information can therefore be adopted, especially if it's frequently shared online. Fortunately, counterarguments are also being heard. The European AI Act should make this process more reliable.
10. Is it smart to let AI or an agency automate your marketing process?
That's certainly possible, provided you have a clear strategy. Automate repetitive tasks (like product copy), but maintain control. Without clear direction, automated content can be detrimental to your brand and visibility.
11. Does your search history influence an LLM's answers?
Yes. Your profile and previous interactions influence the answers. Therefore, in both ChatGPT and Google's AI Overview, users can receive different answers to the same prompt.
12. How often should you update the content on your website?
That depends on the type of content: Static information: only necessary for updates. Blog posts, seasonal content, news: monthly updates are smart to stay relevant.
13. Is it bad to have general content written by AI?
Not necessarily. Use AI as a tool, but always ensure you offer unique, valuable additions. Only then will you stand out in a market with a lot of the same content.
